For parents
Raising builders in an AI world
AI is already part of our kids' lives. We want Valley families to understand it, direct it wisely, and build with it.
Reasons it matters
AI and robotics matter for Alaska kids
Machines that sense, decide, and act are showing up in trades, health care, resource industries, aviation, and small business. The people who can explain an idea clearly, direct AI to build it, and test the result will shape that future. Robotics also builds patience, teamwork, and problem solving that carry into any path.
Using IDEA allotment funds
Ember & Oak Institute is an approved IDEA homeschool vendor. IDEA families may be able to use allotment funds toward our programs. Allotment rules and approvals are set by IDEA, so please check with your IDEA advisor before enrolling.
Our approach to AI safety
We teach kids to treat AI as a tool to direct and question. Students learn that AI can be wrong, that its work must be checked and tested, that it should never replace their own thinking, and that personal information stays private. Any AI use in our programs is guided and age-appropriate.
Family privacy comes first
Our forms are for parents only, and we ask for as little as possible. We do not collect information from children.
